1st Goulanes 10/1 - 120 2nd Harry Topper 7/2 - 80 3rd Ofaolains Boy 6/1 - 50 3rd Shotavodka 8/1 - 50 Goulanes was very impressive here. He has been off for over 1000days, an came back to the Welsh National. A bit of a tall order in my opinion and he pulled up after running well. So he comes back fitter for that then he could go well. The drop back will probably help as well. Lots of positives for him. He is 2 wins from 3 on soft, the loss was in the Welsh National, and we know why he struggled in that. He is 2 wins from 3 in March. He is a course winner and on a track like this with slight undulations he is 3/3. If he is fit, and it is a big if. Then he has a great chance. At 10/1 i am happy to have a bet. Shotavodka won this last year, but the going is softer than last year. And its a big worry, he has only placed once 3m and above of soft ground, and then he was beaten 30L, so i am not so sure. He is however only  pound higher in the handicap, than when winning this last y

1st The Last Samurai 4/1 - 125 2nd Definitly Red 10/3 - 100 3rd Looking Well 11/2 - 75 This does look like a race between The Last Samurai and Definitly Red. The Last Samurai does have a big weight here which is a worry, as Definitly Red will take full advantage of that. We know TLS stays all day and Definitly Red has won at 3m 1f, and the way he won the last one suggests this extra furlong won't be an issue. Cannot ignore Yala Enki though, whose stable are in great form lately I am sticking to my system, however i do think Definitly Red will take advantge of the 12lb TLS is giving him, and it will be close. a RFC might be on the cards. My Selection: The Last Samurai 4/1
